As sheriff, I want you to know the members of the Wayne County Sheriff’s office are committed to providing the best law enforcement services possible. As part of that commitment, we will strive for fairness and professionalism.
Our Responsibilities
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office is committed to upholding the safety and well-being of our community through three core responsibilities. We provide security and essential services to all county and court facilities, ensuring that these public spaces remain safe and orderly. Our office also operates the Wayne County Jail, maintaining secure and humane conditions for inmates in accordance with state and federal guidelines. Most importantly, we are dedicated to protecting and serving the citizens of Wayne County through proactive policing and responsive law enforcement across the entire county.
Our Team
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office is staffed by a dedicated team of professionals who work together to ensure the safety and security of our community. Our current team includes one Lieutenant who also serves as a K9 officer, one Detective, and eight Patrol Deputies who provide law enforcement coverage throughout the county. We also have one full-time Court Security Deputy and two part-time Court Security Deputies who maintain safety within our court facilities. At the Wayne County Jail, our Corrections Division is led by one Corrections Sergeant and supported by eight Correction Officers. Additionally, one Administrative Assistant helps keep our office running smoothly behind the scenes. Each member of our team plays a vital role in fulfilling our mission to serve and protect.

The Wayne County Jail was built in 1993 and is a 34 bed facility. We offer a full service kitchen and laundry facility.
